Four
VERGETEN ARENA'S
|
by Stefan Van Loock
|
| This book looks at
some of the historic football venues in Belgium. Some of the
stadiums are still used, some are virtually derelict and others sit
forlornly in suburbs with no one seemingly knowing they are there.
Although it is only available in French or Flemish, it is an incredibly
interesting book by its photographs alone. Van Loock has in effect
'done an Inglis' by capturing the imagination in a wonderful book about
a subject that has largely been ignored in his country. If you can
find a copy, buy it! |

VOETBALTEMPELS VAN
DE LAGE LANDEN
|
Stefan Van Loock
|
| This is the follow up
book to the one featured above. It is a look at the modern day
grounds of virtually all the top division Belgian and Dutch clubs.
Each club has a full colour photograph of their current stadium along
with details and pictures of former grounds, where applicable.
Again, this book is not available in English, but it is still worth
having.

THE HOMES OF
FOOTBALL - The Passion of a Nation
|
by Stuart Clarke
|
| Stuart Clarke is a
well-known photographer who over the last decade or so has built up a
huge gallery of football stadium related photographs. These images
have been shown widely in galleries and museums around the
country. Postcards were then introduced depicting some of the
pictures from the collection, followed by the books. This book is
a full colour selection of some of the best images captured by Clarke
during his travels and is well worth the outlay. |
