FOOTBALL LEAGUE -
GROUNDS FOR A CHANGE
|
Dave Twydell
|
| A painstaking work by
the well known author of the 'Gone But Not Forgotten' series. With
this book Twydell has presented information on every former ground of
clubs in the Football League. There are many old photographs and
plans and every effort has been made to describe the site of the former
grounds to enable them to be pin-pointed today. The only criticism
is the rather bland and old fashioned typeface and the poor reproduction
of the odd picture. It is a 'must have' for those interested in
defunct football grounds. |

FOOTBALL GROUNDS
BEFORE AND AFTER TAYLOR
|
Norminton and Ambler
|
| There are two books in
this series. One covers the Premiership and First Division.
The other covers the two bottom divisions. They were a follow up
to Chris Ambler's Full Colour Views of Football League Grounds
which featured all the grounds prior to the Taylor Report. In
these books the original pictures are produced again but this time
opposite more up to date photo's since the Taylor Report kicked
in. Although a useful guide, some of the photography is poor and
lacks imagination. |

THE FOOTBALL GROUNDS
OF EUROPE
|
Simon Inglis |
|
After the success of
the British version of his book Inglis tried his arm on a European
version written and published to coincide with the World Cup in Italy in
1990. This is much less detailed than the British version but is
nonetheless a very interesting and valuable book on the subject.
There are some stunning views of foreign stadia and some tremendous
insight's into former major venues around the continent. |
